During the 1970s a wave of horror movies and documentaries alike were released that focused on America?s "real monsters". This September, indie film production house, Small Town Monsters, will release their homage to these creepy ?b-movies? from a bygone era when they unleash ?MOMO: The Missouri Monster.

The latest feature from director, Seth Breedlove is a hybrid documentary and narrative horror movie that explores an infamous Bigfoot and UFO outbreak that occurred in Missouri back in the early 1970?s. Breedlove promises that his latest creation is ?a true foray into a type of storytelling never seen before?. Pulling elements from late night horror-host shows, grindhouse movies, and traditional documentary filmmaking, ?MOMO? harkens back to a time when drive-ins were full of carloads of terrified teenagers and screens were drenched in the blood of Bigfoot victims.

The year was 1972 and the place was a tiny, quaint, riverfront town called Louisiana, Missouri. On a warm summer evening two local kids saw a creature in their own backyard holding a dead dog. Before you could say the word ?Bigfoot? the local media and police officials alike had pounced on the story. Overnight Louisiana became ?monster central? with creature seekers and monster hunters combing the woods to look for ?the thing? that the newspapers had dubbed ?MOMO?. One particular family was at the center of this whirlwind of activity and as the Missouri Monster sightings began to increase, so did the negative impact on the Harrisons.

In 1975, a film crew set out to tell an over-the-top, filmic version of the MOMO sightings. Due to one reason or another, this should-have-been-cult-classic was never released. Until now?

Today, the final trailer has been unveiled which gives us our first, real look at the monster, the story and the characters. MOMO is gearing up for a busy September with its official DVD and streaming release on September 20th being preceded by a handful of live screenings. The official premiere on September 6th is a midnight, grindhouse-style event being held at the Kentucky Theater in Lexington, KY as part of an event that Small Town Monsters will be a part of called, Cryptid-Con. Along with the first screening anywhere of the film, members of the cast (Cliff Barackman and James Bobo Fay) and crew (director, Breedlove and executive producer, Nick Groff) will be onhand for the premiere. On Friday, September 13th, the Canton Palace Theatre in Canton, OH will play host to the Ohio Premiere of MOMO. Large parts of the narrative portion of the creature-feature were shot in Northeast Ohio and a record number of the cast and crew are scheduled to attend. Finally, on September 20th (the same day as the official release) the Missouri Monster will storm the State Theater in downtown Point Pleasant, WV as part of the kickoff for the annual Mothman Festival.

In this latest film from Small Town Monsters experience the MOMO encounters like never before! Equal parts documentary and narrative horror film, MOMO: The Missouri Monster seeks to examine a decades old case, and to uncover the impact a ?creature feature? can have on a local legend. Delve deep into the heart of ?monster mania? in this, the largest undertaking of its kind!

Directed by Seth Breedlove and featuring cameos by Cliff Barackman and James ?Bobo? Fay of Finding Bigfoot along with Janet Jay (The Mummy and the Monkey) and Elizabeth Saint (Ghosts of Shepherdstown). The film stars Adam Duggan, Sara Heddleston, and Amy Davies.
