Tennessee (Class A) BFRO

August 1987

I was on the way home from work about 9PM one night. It was clear except for some ground fog. I saw movement on the right hand side of the road and thought a deer was about to cross so slowed down. This was a heavily wooded rural area then, and still is mostly. As I got closer I saw it was a manlike "thing" stepping out of the brush and weeds and about to cross the road. I really freaked out and jammed the brakes on. The "thing" just walked calmly across, looked towards me for a few seconds and then went down the other side of the road. It vanished into the darkness. I had to wait for several minutes to stop shaking enough to drive home. This was right near my house.
