I lived in San Angelo in the latter part of the 60s. I had no knowledge of Bigfoot until I was an adult. But looking back at several incidences I had in San Angelo, I am not at all surprised at this report. My uncle and sister and I used to hike, in remote areas, for miles and miles. We loved the lakes in San Angelo. We had a canoe. And we loved to walk alongside or on the Concho River. To get to one of our favorite river hiking spots, we had to go across a few farmers' fields (some cotton field, some cattle grazing area), and then hike through an interesting wooded area before we hit a certain river spot. Now, in that wooded area, sometimes it was almost dark because of the density of the trees. There were all kinds of strange tree formations, some twisted to grow at odd angles, and some broken and pressed against another to almost form a teepee shape. I wondered how that had come to happen. Sometimes, a stick or a small rock would sometimes seem to be thrown at us, out of nowhere. My uncle would explain it away as 'just normal' wooded area sounds, especially when we would hear what sounded like a family, laughing and talking in the distance, though we seemed to be all alone. Again, he would explain it away--oh, you know how odd sound can travel for miles in remote areas, he would say. About six years later,I had an encounter that made me a believer in Bigfoot and I surmise this to be a very illusive and rare animal, none-the-less, very real. I am glad you had a very wise horse!
