They were initially drawn to the subject due to their own curiosity and a desire to vindicate witnesses who have had encounters with the creature. They have been investigating for many years and have yet to have a personal encounter, but they have talked to thousands of witnesses and have seen various forms of physical evidence. The documentary also features an exciting Bigfoot encounter that occurred in October 2008 at Salt Fork State Park in Southeastern Ohio. Two investigators were in the park looking for other researchers when they heard something large moving through the brush and had rocks thrown at them. Later that night, one of the investigators saw a large figure with massive shoulders and a conical-shaped head. The figure had a white-blue eye shine and disappeared into the brush when the investigator shined a spotlight on it. Another investigator's two sons also had a sighting that same night and were able to observe the creature for several minutes before it ran away. The investigator who saw the figure in the brush also had an unusual experience and became ill for a few minutes, but they have never experienced anything like it before or since. Researchers who have not had a personal encounter are still drawn to the study by intriguing physical evidence and eyewitness testimony. The best evidence for the existence of Sasquatch is still the film shot by Roger Patterson in 1967, which stands as a cornerstone of Bigfoot research.
