There's something about a firsthand witness account that just hits differently, and this one from the YouTube channel Sasquatch and Paranormal in Wineberry Holler is no exception. The host shares a story told to them by a friend, "David" (not his real name), about an encounter that happened back in the 1970s when David was just a kid.
So here's how it goes. David grew up in a small community, and during the hot summer days, he and the other local kids would head down to their swimming hole, a creek with a nice wide spot perfect for cooling off. What made this swimming hole extra special was the 8-foot bridge that ran right over it. The kids would jump off the bridge into the water and spend hours floating around in the shade underneath.
On this particular day, after about an hour of swimming, things took a turn. One of the boys looked up at the bridge and saw a massive face peering down at them. A huge white Sasquatch had been watching them swim. The kids scrambled to get out of the water and started running, but David looked back just in time to see the creature jump off the bridge into the water. The splash was enormous. And here's the kicker, the bridge was 8 feet tall, and this being's head was almost touching the top of it. That puts this individual at roughly 7 to 7.5 feet tall.
David says he was terrified and never forgot the experience. For years, he tried to figure out what he saw, going to libraries, buying books, searching for answers. It wasn't until documentaries started coming out that he finally understood what he had encountered. He always called it "the white monster."
White Sasquatch reports have circulated for decades across various regions of North America. Some researchers suggest these could be older individuals whose fur has turned gray or white with age, similar to how humans go gray. Others believe there may be distinct regional variations in coat color. Either way, an encounter with one of these beings, especially as a child, would absolutely leave a lasting impression.
The video doesn't stop at the story though. The host takes viewers on a walk up the holler, and the footage is genuinely beautiful. Honeysuckle is in bloom, filling the air with its sweet scent. Deer are spotted in the fields, and a little rabbit even runs right past the camera, startling the host. There's a crystal-clear spring that the host used to drink from, and Japanese knotweed plants that, while invasive, are absolutely gorgeous when they sprout up.
But the real magic happens when the host starts hearing tree knocks in the distance. For those unfamiliar, tree knocking is one of the most commonly reported sounds associated with Sasquatch encounters. Witnesses often describe hearing deliberate, rhythmic knocking on trees, sometimes in response to human presence. It's considered by many researchers to be a form of communication. The host pauses to listen, and there appears to be at least one clear knock captured on audio.
Footprints are also shown throughout the walk, including some partial prints in the muddy areas along the path. The host mentions finding prints in this area frequently.
There's also a fascinating moment where the host describes seeing something black hiding behind a structure while driving her daughter to school that morning. It was behind a log with sticks laid over it, and she saw a head pop up and back down. She isn't sure if it was a bear or a Sasquatch, but she notes that the local state park was unusually busy that morning, and these beings are known to be curious about human activity.
The host shares some really thoughtful perspectives throughout. She expresses a belief that when Sasquatch get old, just like us, they turn gray. She refers to them as "people" who have a language, who are beautiful, stealthy, and wonderful beings that prefer to be left alone but occasionally engage in gift exchanges with humans. She mentions missing the closer interactions she had when she lived right down in the holler, and how they would trade gifts back and forth.
This is the kind of content that makes you want to lace up your boots and head into the woods. The combination of a compelling witness story, possible audio evidence of tree knocks, footprint finds, and that gorgeous holler scenery makes for a really engaging watch. The host's genuine love and respect for these beings and the land they share comes through in every moment.
Definitely worth checking out the full video for anyone interested in witness accounts, possible audio evidence, or just wanting to experience a peaceful walk through Sasquatch country.
