Fall Brings Bigfoot Sightings and Moon Phase Theories

But during a full moon or when there's more illumination, they spread out more—which is when those wood knocks and vocalizations are heard. It's a fascinating theory that actually makes a lot of sense when you think about it. A creature that depends on cover of darkness wouldn't want to be super active when there's a bright moon overhead. The conversation also touches on that infamous Sasquatch odor that witnesses often report. Matt mentions that several people who came forward at the festival described hearing footfalls and then being hit with that distinctive smell. For researchers, that odor is actually valuable data—it's one of those consistent elements that keeps showing up in credible reports.
