In a recent video from The Cryptid Quest Podcast, host Patrick Perry interviews Darrell Denton, a well-known researcher and enthusiast in the Bigfoot community. Darrell shares some of his most memorable encounters, including his experience with the elusive Dog Man at LBL in 2012.
Darrell's passion for Bigfoot research began after hearing Ron Morehead's recordings from the Sierra Sounds, which he believes to be authentic and life-changing. He describes Ron as a close friend and one of the most knowledgeable figures in the field. Darrell and his team, which includes Martin Rose, have had numerous encounters with both Bigfoot and Dog Man, often in the LBL area.
One particularly interesting story Darrell shares is about the Doug Way, a creature with a Bigfoot body and the head of a wolf. According to Darrell, Doug Way means "face eater" in the native language of the American Indians who once inhabited the LBL region. He explains that this creature is usually a loner and has a different appearance than the typical Bigfoot.
Darrell also touches on the topic of different Bigfoot types in various regions. He believes there are at least three or four distinct types in the southeastern United States, with varying appearances and behaviors.
Throughout the interview, Darrell emphasizes the importance of having trustworthy team members when conducting research, as the wilderness can be unpredictable and potentially dangerous. He and his team take numerous safety precautions when venturing into the field.
