In a video posted on the YouTube channel Phantoms & Monsters Radio, a fascinating account of an encounter with the Mothman was shared. The witness, who remains anonymous, recounts a strange phone call her family received in 1967, just two weeks before the collapse of the Silver Bridge in Point Pleasant, West Virginia.
The caller claimed to have a "big bird" causing trouble in their area, and asked for the witness's father's help in hunting it down. The caller's daughter, who was friends with the witness, was asked to speak to her on the phone. During their conversation, the girl claimed that her "imaginary friend," a man who wasn't a man, wanted the witness to come down and talk to him.
The witness's father took the phone call seriously and decided to drive down to West Virginia with his family to investigate. While waiting in line to cross the Silver Bridge, the witness had a premonition of the bridge collapsing into the river below. Her father, alarmed by her vision, asked her when this would happen. The witness saw in her mind that the bridge would fall in about two weeks.
Two weeks later, the Silver Bridge did indeed collapse, killing 46 people. The witness's family had already left the area, but the experience had a profound impact on her.
This account adds to the already intriguing Mothman phenomena, and raises questions about the creature's possible connection to tragic events. The witness's premonition of the bridge collapse is particularly chilling, and adds to the mystery surrounding the Mothman.
