PNW Rush, a YouTube channel that explores the backcountry of the Pacific Northwest, recently dropped a video that's giving serious chills. The footage comes from a late-night camping trip near Mount Saint Helens, a location that has long been considered prime territory for Sasquatch activity by researchers and witnesses alike.
On August 1st, the PNW Rush crew, Glenn and his filming partner, set up camp at a site they had never used before. Everything seemed normal at first. They pitched their tent, set up a night vision camera and an audio recorder at 12:18 a.m., and called it a night. Then things got weird.
Around 4:58 a.m., Glenn woke his partner up, convinced there was a bear growling nearby. After that, sleep was pretty much over. But the real mystery came the next morning when they reviewed their gear. The video recorder had mysteriously stopped recording at 3:25 a.m. The audio recorder had shut off four minutes earlier, at 3:21 a.m. Both devices, both powered down within minutes of each other in the middle of the night. Coincidence? Maybe. But anyone who has spent time in the woods with recording equipment knows that unexplained electronic failures in Sasquatch hotspots are a recurring theme in witness reports.
And then there was the thermal camera footage. Before the equipment died, the thermal camera captured an orb moving steadily toward their camp. Orbs, light anomalies, and unexplained spheres of light have been reported by Sasquatch researchers for decades, often appearing near active sighting locations or during encounters. Some researchers believe these phenomena are connected to the presence of Sasquatch themselves, while others think they might be a separate paranormal element entirely. Either way, an orb approaching a camp in the dead of night is the kind of thing that makes the hair on your arms stand up.
The third piece of the puzzle might be the most intriguing of all. When they examined their vehicle, which they affectionately call the "baby squatch," they found mysterious fingerprints on the body of the car. The prints weren't in a spot that would make sense for loading or unloading gear. The placement was just... off. Almost as if something had been leaning against the vehicle or pressing close to it in the dark.
Mount Saint Helens and the surrounding Gifford Pinchot National Forest have a rich history of Sasquatch reports. The area's dense old-growth forests, rugged terrain, and remote backcountry make it an ideal habitat, and countless hikers, hunters, and campers have come forward with stories over the years. Footprints, vocalizations, tree structures, and nighttime sightings are all part of the region's lore.
PNW Rush is asking viewers to weigh in on what they think happened. Was the orb a sign of something intelligent observing their camp? Did the presence of whatever it was cause the electronics to shut down? And who, or what, left those fingerprints on the baby squatch?
The video is definitely worth a watch. The thermal footage of the orb alone is enough to get the conversation started, but combined with the equipment failures and the strange prints, this one has layers. Head over to PNW Rush's channel and check it out for yourself, then drop your theories in the comments. This is the kind of footage that reminds us why we keep paying attention to the woods after dark.
