Mysterious Encounters at a South Dakota Youth Camp: Witnesses Report Bigfoot Sightings and Strange Occurrences

South Dakota's haunting tales of Bigfoot encounters are abundant, and this latest video from Curious Conundrums Mysteries Unveiled only adds to the chilling lore. The video features firsthand accounts reported by witnesses from across South Dakota, shared through the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization. One particularly intriguing story comes from a camp counselor who had a strange experience in August of 2003. While working at a Native American youth camp outside Kuster, she and her boyfriend noticed an unusual figure standing up a hill beside a pine tree. The figure was tall, with fur, and seemed to disappear behind the tree after standing there for a moment. The boyfriend didn't see it, but the counselor pointed it out to him. The camp was somewhat isolated by forest, hills, and a small lake, and strange occurrences continued throughout the camp. The male counselors returned to their cabins to find all the boys huddled into one cabin, frightened and claiming they had heard something outside the cabins and that it was throwing branches and rocks at the cabins. Some of the boys said they saw something at the back of the cabins and they were sure it was a Bigfoot, or as they called it, Tallman. The branch and rock throwing continued off and on during the camp around the boy's cabins. On another night, the camp director, whose cabin was close to the bathrooms, got up around 4:00 a.m. to go to the bathroom and noticed a foul smell. She told the staff the next morning that she smelled a Bigfoot and was familiar with the scent, having had Bigfoot experiences of her own when she first started the camp program in Oregon. Towards the end of the camp, after another late staff meeting, the counselor's boyfriend returned to his cabin. He went to open the door, but it was locked. He knocked on the door and was looking through the window of the door and noticed movement across the cabin through another window that was opposite the door. He said he saw something huge move in front of that window and then realized that something was staring back at him through the same window. Before he could make out what it was, it stood up and moved away from the window. The counselor and her boyfriend discussed their experiences on their drive home and became convinced that it all really may have been Bigfoot related. The camp is situated in a sort of depression as it's surrounded by hills that are forested with pine and aspen and is also bordered by a small lake.
