Sasquatch Expert Warns: Treat Bigfoot Encounters Like Black Bear Encounters

Just came across a really thought-provoking video over on the Scott Carpenter Sasquatch Awareness Project YouTube channel, and it's one of those clips that sticks with you long after it's over. Scott tackles a question that gets asked all the time in the community: are Sasquatch dangerous? His answer is honest, a little unsettling, and absolutely worth hearing straight from him.
Scott doesn't dance around the topic. He says yes, they can be dangerous, and he explains why in a way that makes a lot of sense. He points out that Sasquatch are sentient beings with intellect, emotion, motives, and desires, much like us. But their lineage sets them apart. Scott subscribes to the theory that Sasquatch are descendants of the hybridization between fallen angels and human females thousands of years ago. Because of that spiritual heritage, they don't view humans as equals. In fact, he puts it bluntly: for many Sasquatch, killing a human is simply one of the options on the table when they encounter us. It might be option number 50 for some, but it's still on the menu.
His practical advice for anyone who finds themselves face-to-face with a Sasquatch is similar to what you'd do if you crossed paths with a black bear in the Smokies. Back away slowly. Don't run. Don't try to talk to it, wave at it, or take pictures. Just calmly remove yourself from the area while keeping it in your line of sight until you're at a safe distance to turn and walk away. It sounds simple, but Scott admits it's easier said than done.
What really makes this video stand out is the spiritual dimension Scott brings to the discussion. He talks about the "hitchhiker effect," a term that gets thrown around a lot in Sasquatch research. The idea is that when you aggressively seek out encounters with Sasquatch, you open a spiritual door. And once that door is open, it can't be closed. Scott shares his own experience with this, saying he was followed home after seeking contact, and strange, non-Sasquatch-related paranormal activity started happening around his property. He had to resort to spiritual rebuking just to keep them off his land, though he notes they still followed him.
He also touches on something that doesn't get talked about enough: the darker side of Sasquatch encounters. While there are plenty of accounts of Sasquatch helping lost hikers, sheltering children, and even carrying wounded people back to civilization, Scott mentions he's been told about cases where certain Sasquatch clans went rogue and started killing people, leading to military involvement to take them out. He says he has information from two different families in two different parts of the country confirming this, and while he knows it's a hard pill to swallow, he feels obligated to share it.
The spiritual warning is just as serious. Because Sasquatch don't possess human souls and are deeply tied to the spiritual realm, interacting with them can expose you to demonic and satanic influences, whether the individual Sasquatch means well or not. Scott says this exposure has happened to him and to others he knows.
It's a sobering watch, but an important one. Scott's overall message is one of respect. These are powerful beings with their own culture, mindset, and way of thinking. They don't value human life the way we value each other's lives. So if you ever have an encounter, the best thing you can do is leave the area as quickly and calmly as possible. Don't chase, don't provoke, and don't stick around trying to figure it out.
Definitely worth checking out the full video for yourself. Scott goes into more detail and shares additional insights that didn't make it into this recap.
