So there's this brand new live show that just dropped over on the Relic Films Media YouTube channel, and honestly, it feels like exactly the kind of space the paranormal community has been craving. It's called Liminal Operators, and the whole vibe is basically an open invitation for people to come share their weird stories, no judgment, no eye rolls, just real talk about ghosts, Sasquatch, UFOs, and all that high strangeness that keeps us up at night.
The first episode features Jamie from Relic Films teaming up with the always energetic Natalie Smearman, along with guest Jim Powell and a very special appearance by Tortello, who I can only describe as the most unbothered co-host in paranormal broadcasting history. If you know, you know.
What really stood out to me was how Jamie talked about being known as "the Bigfoot guy" at his day job. You know how that goes, right? You spend enough time researching, reading reports, going out into the woods, and suddenly everybody at work is sliding into your DMs with their own encounters. Jamie nailed it when he said experiencers seem to recognize other experiencers without even trying. There's just this weird pull, this unspoken understanding between people who've seen things they can't explain. That tracks with so much of what researchers have been saying for years, that Sasquatch encounters tend to cluster around people who are already open to the phenomenon, almost like the experience finds you when you're ready for it.
Jim dropped a hilarious story about a coworker who was convinced she had a demon in her house, only for it to turn out her husband had taken apart a piece of furniture to move it and never put it back together. Classic. But it also speaks to something deeper, how our minds try to rationalize the unknown, and how sometimes the "haunting" is just bad home maintenance. Other times, though, it's not, and that's exactly why shows like this matter.
The crew also teased some upcoming adventures that have me seriously hyped. Jamie is heading to England for the Movie and Monster Con in Bridgeport, where he'll be speaking and working the event alongside some heavy hitters in the field, including Dr. Maria Mayor, Russ Accord, and RPG. There are excursions planned, a convention, and then a forest investigation that sounds absolutely incredible. After that, it's back stateside for a Georgia squatching trip with the crew, and yes, there was serious discussion about whether Tortello could tag along in some tiny footy pajamas. Honestly, I support this fully.
If you're into paranormal podcasts but want something that feels more like hanging out with friends who actually get it, this is worth checking out. The chemistry between the hosts is great, Tortello is an icon, and the whole concept of building a safe space for people to share their stories without being mocked is something this community desperately needs more of. Head over to Relic Films Media and catch the first episode when you get a chance.
