In a recent paranormal podcast, hosts Christa and Brandy were joined by special guest Ryan Edwards, a cryptozoologist and author of the new book "Sasquatch: A Prehistory of a Living Legend." The podcast, which can be found on the YouTube channel Blondes and Boos Paranormal Podcast, delved into the possible evolutionary origins of Sasquatch, also known as Bigfoot. Ryan, who has been researching Sasquatch since he was a child, discussed the three main candidates for the creature's origins: Gigantopithecus, a extinct species of ape; Paranthropus, an evolutionary offshoot of our own lineage that occurred about 1.5 million years ago; and Dryopithecus, an ancient ape indigenous to Europe that lived in Oak Forest and swamps similar to the Pacific Northwest.
