A chilling firsthand account out of the Ozarks has resurfaced, and folks, this one is going to stick with you. A couple named Paul and Pam, who own a secluded property deep in the Ozark woods, sat down with a YouTube investigator from the channel Mysteries Unknown to share what can only be described as one of the most harrowing close encounters I've heard in a long time. And here's the kicker — the investigator actually visited their land, walked the property, and apparently captured some footage that might just be the real deal. You're going to want to check this one out for yourself.
Pam's story begins in June 2021, and it unfolded over the course of nearly a week. It started on a Monday when she was floating around in her swimming pool, just relaxing on a mat. Out of nowhere, she heard a shrill whistle coming from the southeastern part of their property. It was the kind of sound that made you stop and pay attention. A little while later, she heard it again. Then, while floating, she glanced through a gap in some cedar trees and spotted something reddish-brown poking out from the woods. It looked like a head and a shoulder, but it was way too high off the ground to be a deer. She thought maybe it was a dead tree limb at first, so she floated over to grab some water and floated back. By the time she returned, whatever it was had vanished.
That evening, she and Paul were sitting out front when they heard a knock from the back of the property. Wednesday brought another knock from the same area, followed by what Pam described as a deep, rough sneeze from the opposite side of the house. Paul went to investigate, but the woods were too dark to see anything.
Then came Thursday. Pam was getting the pool ready before a vacation, and as she walked past her car, she heard a grunt from the woods to her left. She knew what deer grunts sounded like — she hunts — and this was something completely different. She brushed it off and kept going. She got in the pool, turned on her Christian music low like she always did, and started cleaning. That's when things escalated. She heard metal hitting metal from a field where Paul kept welding pipes. Then a crashing sound, like a tree or a big limb falling. She was getting nervous and decided to do one more swipe and get out.
Now here's where the story takes a turn that gave me chills. Pam is a firm believer in guardian angels, and she says this was the fourth time in her life she heard her angel speak to her. As she was making her last circle around the pool, she looked up and saw it standing between the back of the carport and a big oak tree in the yard. She stared at it for maybe five seconds. That's when she heard the words, "Don't look at it." She immediately looked back down at the water and tried to act like she hadn't seen anything.
What she describes next is something researchers have documented in countless encounters — a kind of dissociative state or time displacement. She tried to make her way to her ladder, which was about 15 feet away. She was listening for gravel crunching, trying to figure out where the creature had gone. The next thing she remembers, she was standing on a concrete slab near the steps, scanning the area, asking herself, "Where's it at? Where's it at?" The day had been bright and sunny, but suddenly there was a thick fog everywhere. She ran into the house.
When asked what the creature looked like, Pam didn't hesitate. She and Paul had actually done a size comparison afterward. It was approximately eight feet tall, about four feet wide at the shoulders, with a rounded head — not conical — and shoulders that came straight off the head with no slope. She could see its muscular arms, pec muscles, and a tapered waist. The sun was hitting the right side of the creature, revealing a reddish-brown color. She saw a massive thigh, the knee, and the top of the calf. Its hair was completely smooth — no sticks, no leaves, nothing tangled in it. She never saw its face because the hair appeared to be pulled over it. The only skin visible was its hands, which were black. And its arms were bowed, like it was getting ready to charge. That's when Pam thought she was going to die.
As for the time loss, Pam estimates anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour just vanished. Time loss episodes like this are actually a well-documented phenomenon in Sasquatch encounter reports. Researchers and witnesses have described similar gaps for decades, and it remains one of the most puzzling aspects of these experiences.
The investigator also walked the property with Paul and Pam, and apparently captured some footage that they believe could be Sasquatch. They tease it at the end of the video and invite viewers to decide for themselves.
If you're into detailed witness accounts, Ozark encounters, or just want to see what kind of footage they managed to capture on that property, do yourself a favor and go watch the full video over on the Mysteries Unknown YouTube channel. Pam's description alone is worth the listen, but that footage at the end might just be the real prize.
