A former army communications technician named Caleb Hart takes a high-paying contract job to restore an abandoned emergency relay station on Rook Ridge in the remote mountains of northern Idaho. He joins a small crew consisting of a tower climber and two armed wilderness security contractors for what was supposed to be an eight-day project. Upon arriving at the forgotten compound, the team discovers a 160-foot steel lattice tower in worse condition than described, along with mysterious long scratches on the generator enclosure door. The marks run from approximately five to eight feet above the ground, cut deep into the metal through several layers of paint, and show no signs of forced entry or typical bear damage. The security team leader, Warren, notes the scratches are too clean and deliberate to have been made by a bear, leaving the crew uneasy as they settle into the old maintenance cabin for the night
