There's something genuinely compelling happening in Oakridge, Oregon right now, and if you haven't been following the buzz coming out of this year's Sasquatch Summerfest, you're missing out on some wild stories. A recent episode from the Bigfoot Society podcast, hosted by Jeremiah Byron, caught my attention because it weaves together multiple threads that all point to something extraordinary happening in those woods. The episode features Priscilla Roseman Davidson, who you might recognize as the owner of the Area 58 Museum and the driving force behind the Sasquatch Summerfest Festival. This year's event ran July 10th through the 11th, and despite Jeremiah being sidelined due to his ongoing battle with cancer, the festival absolutely thrived. The community rallied around him in a big way, with multiple raffles held and a generous donation made to his GoFundMe to help cover treatment costs. That kind of solidarity speaks volumes about this community. But here's where things get really interesting. Priscilla introduced something new this year called "Jason Kenzie Adventures," where participants could head into the woods with Jason Kenzie and essentially star in their own documentary while searching for Sasquatch. It was such a hit that they ran multiple days of it. And the encounters started rolling in. Multiple people reported seeing mysterious lights moving through the trees during these excursions. Michelle Heaton from Sweet Home Sasquatch apparently witnessed something significant out there and is eager to share her account. Then Priscilla dropped a story that gave me chills. She took Jeremiah's co-host Chad Datema, who's six foot ten, out to one of her personal spots in the national forest to gather moss for the festival preparations. This wasn't a planned investigation, they were just out there talking and working. Chad mentioned to Priscilla's dad that he could ward off any Sasquatch encounters just by tightening the beam on his flashlight. The moment he did that, eye shine appeared about 50 yards out. Priscilla described being panic-stricken despite thinking she wouldn't be scared, and then a second set of eye shine showed up roughly a foot and a half off the ground. After Chad stayed a few more minutes, a third set appeared. As they were slowly driving away, more eye shine appeared right where they had been standing. What struck me most was Priscilla's read on the situation. She emphasized there was no ill intent whatsoever. They were vulnerable out there, and if anything had wanted to cause harm, the opportunity was there. That kind of respectful coexistence narrative is exactly the kind of thing that makes these encounters feel profound rather than threatening. There's more coming down the pipeline too. Jeremiah mentioned visuals that occurred in western Oakridge during the same time period, and he's working on getting those witnesses on the show. Definitely worth keeping an eye on this channel for follow-ups.
