A recent upload from the YouTube channel Creek Devil features host William Jevning sitting down with an anonymous witness who had a terrifying run-in on his property in Western North Carolina. And let me tell you, this one is worth every minute of your time.
The witness, a 48-year-old self-described risk-seeker who has gone scuba diving with tiger sharks and jumped out of planes, shared how he relocated from Massachusetts to a 10-acre property with a stream running behind the house. He cleared about two to three acres around the home and started noticing strange activity almost immediately.
The first incident happened while he was building a deck. Out of the corner of his eye, he caught something running from one tree line across an open spot and into another tree line on the other side. He brushed it off as nothing, maybe a person, maybe a kid. About two months later, he heard banging coming from his 10-yard garbage compactor. When he went to investigate, whatever was in there stood up, looked at him, and instead of heading toward the road, it walked the opposite direction, straight into the woods. Still, he wasn't thinking Bigfoot at this point.
Then came the encounter that changed everything. About four months later, in the middle of winter, he and his wife heard the most bizarre sounds outside, grunts, snorts, and all kinds of weird loud noises. He grabbed a flashlight and ran around the house to investigate. What he saw stopped him cold. A creature was standing there holding a dead deer. The deer's head was flopped over, antlers and all, and the thing was leaning over looking directly at him.
The witness described the face as having a silvery tone, almost like an African-American's face with a silvery cast to it, with scraggly hair hanging down like dreads. The eyes were just black pits, nothing visible at all. He said it was ugly, creepy, and weird, and definitely not something you want to see every day.
This is a guy who claims nothing scares him, and he was so shaken that he and his wife sold their home within six months and moved closer to the coast. Ten years later, he's still researching and trying to understand what he saw.
One detail that really caught my attention was his observation about coyotes. He noticed that during the time these incidents were happening, coyotes were hanging around his property, and he believes there's some kind of symbiotic relationship between Sasquatch and coyotes. The coyotes act as scavengers, but their presence actually seems to upset the Sasquatch because it interferes with their hunting. This aligns with what many researchers have suggested over the years, that Sasquatch may tolerate coyote activity because the coyotes help clean up remains, but the relationship is complex and not always peaceful.
For those unfamiliar with this kind of behavior, it's worth noting that Sasquatch are often described as apex predators in their territory. They hunt deer and other large game, and encounters where witnesses observe them carrying fresh kills are considered some of the most credible types of sightings because they document actual feeding behavior rather than just a fleeting glimpse.
The witness also mentioned the face structure being similar to descriptions associated with the name "Zeminar," though he noted the creature he saw had more hair in the face, almost like wet dreads hanging down, which he speculated could have been from rain. Descriptions of facial features vary widely across reported encounters, with some witnesses describing more ape-like features and others describing more humanoid faces with deep-set, dark eyes.
What makes this interview particularly compelling is the witness's demeanor. He's not someone looking for attention or trying to sell a story. He's a regular guy who happened to buy a house in the woods and ended up with something he never expected. The fact that he sold his property and moved away speaks volumes about how real this experience was to him.
If you haven't checked out this video yet, do yourself a favor and give it a watch. Creek Devil has built a solid reputation for hosting long-form interviews with witnesses, and this one is a standout.
