A recent interview on the Sasquatch Theory YouTube channel features a couple, Diana and Rob, sharing a chilling encounter from deep in the Daniel Boone National Forest in Kentucky. Rob, who grew up in Lexington and moved to Clay County in 1996, recounts a squirrel hunting trip back in 1998 that completely changed how he views the woods. The story takes place near the Nathan McClure Trail, a remote section of the forest with old coal mines, bluffs, and dense pine thickets. Rob was sitting on a log about 30 yards from where he and his dad had parked, watching a den tree. He shot two squirrels that dropped just 7 to 10 feet apart. While reloading his 16-gauge shotgun, something caught his eye. In his words, it was as if the tree itself had picked up his two squirrels. Whatever it was took about two and a half strides and vanished into the pine thicket. Rob froze completely. His dad, who had heard the shots, came running over and initially thought his son was on something. But when they walked back to investigate, they found a single footprint in the frost, somewhere between 13 to 16 inches long, with distinct claw marks on the big toe and little toe. The two of them ventured into the pine thicket, which led them to a canyon with 200-foot drop-offs on either side. There, hanging on a limb, was a brand new orange vest. The implications of that vest being there in such a remote location are definitely something to ponder. Rob mentions that this experience made him never want to hunt alone without protection again. He also touches on a personal tragedy, the unsolved murder of his twin sister, and how it made him realize there are things in this world we'll never fully understand. Diana and Rob met in 2020, and a year later they started camping together, sometimes setting up just a quarter mile from where Rob's encounter happened. The video's title suggests activity has followed them. For those unfamiliar with the area, the Daniel Boone National Forest spans over 700,000 acres across eastern Kentucky, with rugged terrain, sandstone cliffs, caves, and dense forests that make it prime Sasquatch territory. The remote areas, old coal mines, and thick vegetation provide ideal cover. Clay County, where Rob settled, sits in the heart of this wilderness. This is one of those interviews worth watching in full. Rob's firsthand account, combined with the physical evidence of the footprint, makes for compelling testimony. The detail about the orange vest hanging in such an inaccessible spot raises even more questions. Check out the full interview on the Sasquatch Theory channel for the complete story.
