Just came across a fascinating compilation over on the Rocky Mountain Sasquatch YouTube channel that's got the community buzzing. This one packs in multiple encounters from different regions, and honestly, some of these accounts are the kind that stick with you long after you hear them.
The first segment comes from Ann Phelps, who shared a story about her husband Perry's childhood near the Snake River in California. Perry was just a preteen playing hide and seek with friends when he looked up and spotted a hair-covered, upright-walking figure quietly watching them from a distance. The kids understandably freaked out, jumped a fence, and ran home to the Pole Line Trailer Camp. Being the intrepid youngsters they were, they grabbed every weapon they could find—guns, knives, even an electric cattle prod—and went looking for it. Smart move, kids.
But here's where it gets really interesting. Around the same time, a teenage couple on a date at that same trailer camp were parked in their vehicle when a Sasquatch approached the car, grabbed it, roared, and violently shook the vehicle. The claw marks they found the next day on a nearby tree were way too high for any human to have made. The adults tried to chalk it up to a bear, but the teens insisted on what they saw.
Then there's the trappers. A few days later, two trappers actually caught a hair-covered, upright creature in a trap. They loaded it into a pickup and headed to show the sheriff. On the way back, they got a flat tire with no spare. They checked the hasp, covered the cage with a tarp, and walked to town. When they returned, the tarp was disturbed, but the cage was empty—and the hasp was still fastened. The implication is chilling: whatever they caught was intelligent enough to unfasten the cage, climb out, refasten it, replace the tarp, and walk away. Perry described the face as "kind of like a lion and a bear combined," something he'd never seen in all his years as a hunter.
The video also features a sighting from Pinetop, Arizona, near Show Low and the Apache Reservation. A camper named Keith felt watched most of the night, heard movement, and captured photos of eye shine that appeared to blink one eye at a time. He sat there for 45 minutes before working up the nerve to take the picture. Once he got in his tent and the fire died, he heard what sounded like bipedal movement outside.
Peter Hollingshead contributed a track find from the trails above Boise, Idaho. Using a cell phone for scale, the print measured around 20 inches long and over 7 inches wide—classic Sasquatch dimensions. The Rocky Mountain Sasquatch team had actually hiked those same trails the previous year following another encounter report in the area.
The final report comes from Bobby, who shared a childhood sighting from around 40 years ago near Sunlight Basin, close to Cody, Wyoming. At about 7 or 8 years old, Bobby was exploring the area while his friend's dad was logging. He split up from his friend and climbed to the top of a ridge where he could see across the valley toward Yellowstone. That's when he saw something moving past an old cut pile—standing on two legs, dark red with silver tints in the hair. He got a clear side view from about 35 to 40 yards away. He described the face as flat-looking, almost like old leather, with silver running through the hair. The shoulders reminded him of football pads, with long arms reaching nearly to the knees. That night, he begged to go home and hasn't been back to the mountains since.
The Cody-Yellowstone area has long been considered a hotspot for activity, particularly along the east border of the park from the southeast gate to the Beartooth Mountains. Researchers have noted this region consistently produces some of the highest concentrations of sighting reports in the greater Yellowstone-Teton area.
The trapper story alone is worth the watch—accounts of Sasquatch demonstrating tool use and problem-solving intelligence are rare and always intriguing. The track find from Boise and the Arizona eye shine photos add solid documentation to the mix. Definitely worth checking out the full video for all the details and images.
