So there's this video that recently popped up on YouTube from the channel Blondes and Boos, and honestly, it's one of those conversations that sticks with you long after you finish watching. The hosts sit down with Mike Aguilar from Squatchin Florida, and the guy drops a sighting story that is absolutely wild. Picture this. It's March 2017, around 6:30 in the morning, and Mike is heading down a set of S-curves on his way to a little private boat ramp near Homosassa, Florida. The sun is just starting to peek over the trees, cutting halfway across the road. And then he sees it. A massive figure walking up from the edge of the road. When it stepped into that sunlight, it turned cinnamon. Every bit of seven feet tall, built like a really big basketball player, but covered in hair. Mike says it did almost an exact replica of the famous "patty walk" right before looking directly at him. By the time he came around the next curve, the figure was gone. His buddy was sitting right next to him in the truck, looking out the window at deer, and never saw a thing. Now, for anyone familiar with Florida cryptids, you know exactly what Mike is describing. The Skunk Ape. Florida's own version of Sasquatch, often reported as having a reddish or cinnamon-colored coat and standing well over six feet tall. The Skunk Ape has been part of Florida folklore for decades, with sightings reported throughout the Everglades, the swamps, and even the wooded preserves of central Florida. Pasco County, where Mike grew up, is actually prime territory for these reports. There's a 10,000 acre preserve there that would be exactly the kind of place a reclusive hominid would call home. What makes Mike's story so compelling is how it changed his life. Before that morning, he wasn't really a believer. He had seen Harry and the Hendersons and a couple episodes of Finding Bigfoot, but that was about it. After seeing what he saw, he dove nose-first into the rabbit hole and hasn't come up since. He's been out investigating in Pasco County ever since, and he's had plenty of other encounters along the way. The conversation also touches on some upcoming events that anyone interested in the subject should know about. The Gatlinburg Bigfoot Conference is happening July 25th, and there's a Sasquatch and Dogman weekend camp out at Emmas that's only $40 a person for the whole weekend. The hosts also mention finding a large footprint at a previous investigation at Emmas, complete with visible toes, arch, and heel, plus a partial print about four feet behind it and brush that was packed down showing something had walked right into the forest. They were hearing growling, seeing orbs, and catching bipedal walking sounds that night. If you want to hear Mike tell his story in his own words and get all the details, definitely check out the full video. It's worth the time, especially if you're into Florida sightings or just love hearing a genuine witness account from someone who went from skeptic to full-on investigator overnight.
