A recent video making the rounds on YouTube features William Jebning of Creek Devil sitting down with a witness named Blake, and honestly, this one's worth carving out some time for. Jebning has been in the field for 43 years and is a two-time witness himself, so when he talks to someone who's had an encounter, you know the questions are going to hit different. Blake's story takes us back to somewhere around 2009 or 2010 in South Arkansas, not far from Falcon. He was a young guy at the time, out squirrel hunting alone with a single-shot 20 gauge after missing a deer that morning with his dad. Classic setup for something unexpected to happen, right? He wandered down a dry creek bed, got a little turned around, and found himself under a thick canopy where the light was dim. That's when things got interesting. Blake heard something moving through the leaves on his right side. At first it sounded faint, almost like a squirrel bouncing around. But it got heavier. And heavier. He said it sounded like someone dropping cinder blocks into the leaves with every step. He figured maybe another hunter was about to crest the bank, and he was fully expecting to see a blaze orange hat pop up over the edge. What topped that bank instead was something he can only describe as a Bigfoot. Blake could see from roughly the belly button up. It was cold that morning, and when the creature turned its head, Blake could see steam coming from its nostrils. The hair was shorter than he expected, and the muscles underneath were visibly flexing as it turned its torso. Solid black hair, by the way. Then Blake made some kind of noise, a twig snap or a leaf crunch, and the creature locked onto him instantly. Stared right through him. Blake says he kind of blacked out from the fear and took off running. He made it about halfway home before he had to stop because he was about to pass out. And when he stopped, he could hear it moving on his left side, paralleling him through the woods, making sure it knew where he was. He blew through the front door when he got home and locked it behind him. Almost in tears. It took him a couple of years before he even told his dad what happened, and when he did, his dad opened up about his own experiences in that same area. Apparently there's a lot of history down there. Here's where it gets even more compelling. Blake's great grandmother lived just two houses down from where he had this encounter, and she once saw a small one looking in her window during a snowfall. They found tracks where it walked up to the window and then turned around and walked off. That was only about 300 yards from where Blake was staying. When Jebning asked Blake if he thought what he saw was a juvenile or a full adult, Blake said it wasn't a giant, but it was incredibly robust. He described the torso as looking like a three-quarter inch sheet of plywood. The proportions were off, he said, the upper limbs weren't as big as you'd expect for that massive torso. Hard to wrap your mind around, even now. Solid black hair, which Jebning noted is pretty typical for juveniles. Blake mentioned he's got friends who've had similar experiences, and everything lines up with what Jebning has shared on his shows over the years. This is the kind of interview that reminds you why these stories matter. Blake isn't trying to sell anything. He's just a guy who went squirrel hunting one morning and came back a different person. The family history in that area alone is enough to make you want to dig deeper. Definitely check out the full conversation on Creek Devil's channel. Blake gets into more detail about his other sightings, and Jebning knows exactly what questions to ask to get the real story out.
