A new children's book centered around Sasquatch has caught the attention of the Bigfoot community, and it's easy to see why. In a recent video from the YouTube channel Time We Discuss, author Molly talks about her journey of creating "Following Sasquatch," a children's book that not only introduces the elusive creature to young readers but also teaches them valuable lessons about conservation and respect for nature.
As a former leader of a conservation corps in Oregon, Molly was inspired by the Leave no Trace principles and the idea that Sasquatch is the ultimate master of these principles. This idea stayed with her for years until she finally decided to turn it into a children's book.
What's unique about Molly's approach to this book is that she not only wrote the story but also illustrated it herself. She has always been drawing, making music, and dancing, so creating the illustrations for her book was a natural fit. However, the physical book creation process was a bit of a headache for her. She hand-bound each copy, made her own paper, and even tried to use hand-made paper. Despite the challenges, Molly learned a lot about bookmaking, writing, and the influence she could have on her readers.
As a self-published author, Molly sold copies of her book at coffee shops, fairs, and through her website. She even hand-wrapped each copy with a little bow before mailing it to her customers. However, she admits that the process was not sustainable, and she's grateful to have found a publishing company that can take care of the printing and distribution for her.
Molly's excitement about her book is contagious, and it's clear that she put her heart and soul into creating it. Her love for Sasquatch and her passion for conservation shine through every page. This book is a must-read for any young Bigfoot enthusiast, and it's a great way to introduce the legend of Sasquatch to the next generation.
I'm thrilled to see more representation of our favorite elusive creature in children's literature. Molly's book is a valuable addition to the Bigfoot community, and I can't wait to see what she comes up with next.
