In a recent video from the YouTube channel Fear Daily, host Paul Best sits down with Dr. Jeff Meldrum, a professor of anatomy and anthropology at Idaho State University, to discuss the world of Sasquatch. Dr. Meldrum is known for his scientific approach to the possibility of an unknown species of primate or hominid living amongst us.
During the interview, Dr. Meldrum discusses some of the cases he's investigated over the years, including the Paul Freeman case and the casts he received from Freeman. They also cover some of the claims attached by witnesses to their Sasquatch encounters that have been proven in modern investigations with great apes and monkeys.
Dr. Meldrum grew up in Washington, not far from where the famous Patterson-Gimlin film was shot, and has been fascinated by the possibility of Sasquatch since childhood. However, it wasn't until he was asked to evaluate the infamous Redwoods video, which was shot in the Jedediah Smith Redwoods, that he became fully invested in the research.
The Redwoods video, which was shot in low light conditions and using a handheld video camera, shows a figure that is decidedly not human. Dr. Meldrum was struck by the way the figure moved and the proportions of its body, which reminded him of the Patterson-Gimlin film. He even went so far as to compare frames from the two videos and found that the outlines, shape, and proportions of the head, shoulders, torso, and limbs were remarkably similar.
Dr. Meldrum's expertise in comparative primate anatomy and biomechanics has allowed him to approach the subject of Sasquatch with a critical eye, and he has been able to debunk many hoaxes and misidentifications. However, the Redwoods video and other pieces of evidence have caused him to reconsider the possibility that Sasquatch may be a real creature.
I am always excited to see new research and evidence brought to light. The Fear Daily video with Dr. Meldrum is definitely worth a watch for anyone interested in the world of Sasquatch. It's always great to see scientists and researchers taking the possibility of Sasquatch seriously and using their expertise to investigate the evidence. I highly recommend checking out the video and hearing Dr. Meldrum's insights for yourself.
