Bigfoot sightings have been reported all over the country, and Maine is no exception. Recently, I came across a video on YouTube that detailed several accounts of Bigfoot encounters in the state of Maine. I am always excited to share new and interesting reports with our readers. The first encounter took place in 1970 near Livermore, Maine. A man was driving on Strickland Ferry Road when he spotted a Bigfoot standing in the road in front of his Jeep. The creature was at least 7 feet tall and was walking on its hind legs. The man tried to scare the Bigfoot away by revving the engine, but instead, it started walking towards the Jeep. Eventually, the creature dashed away into the woods. In June 1973, two brothers in Piscataquis County, Maine, spotted an animal that they first thought was a black bear. However, as it crossed the road, it stood up on two legs and started running like a human. The creature was 6 feet tall and covered in dark hair all over its body. Another sighting occurred in July 1973 in Penobscot County, Maine. A woman driving on Route 95 spotted a Bigfoot crossing the road ahead of her vehicle. She described the creature as having long arms and standing very erect. In June 1974, a man and his girlfriend were camping in York County, Maine, when they heard strange noises near their tent. The man, who had grown up in the woods and was an experienced tracker, initially thought it was a bear. However, when the creature let out a scream that made every hair on his body stand straight up, he knew it was something else. A 15-year-old girl and her younger sister had a sighting in Kennebec County, Maine, in September 1975. They saw a Bigfoot with long brown hair and a white patch on its chest watching a man chop wood. When the girls screamed, the creature ran away. In November 1975, a woman in Canebec County, Maine, saw a Bigfoot by a tree while she was parked in her car waiting for her husband. When she honked her horn to attract her husband's attention, the Bigfoot seemed to be attracted to the car and started heading towards it. The woman honked her horn again, and the Bigfoot eventually went away. In January 1980, three friends near the White Mountain in Maine saw what they believed to be Bigfoot footprints in the snow. The footprints were about 16 inches long, and the only thing the friends could think of was that they belonged to a Bigfoot. In August 1981, a group of teenagers hunting in Piscataquis County, Maine, heard a sound that drew their attention. When they turned around, they saw a large hairy figure standing nearby. The creature emitted a foul odor, and the teens raised their rifles and pointed them at the beast. However, they did not shoot and instead ran away. These accounts are just a few of the many Bigfoot sightings reported in Maine.
