If you're a fan of cryptozoology and the unexplained, then you'll want to check out the Sasquatch and Sourdough Podcast's episode on the Sykesville Monster. The Sykesville Monster, also known as the Spille Monster, was first reported in the 1980s by a man named Lon Strickler. While fly fishing in the Patapsco River, which runs through Patapsco State Park in Maryland, Lon noticed a small mixed-breed dog sniffing around the weeds and barking. After a few minutes, the dog started growling and Lon heard rustling in the thicket. He then saw a dark, hairy creature bobbing up and down in the bushes. The Sasquatch and Sourdough Podcast hosts, Christina and Crystal, took a hike in the area where Lon would have been when he saw the creature. They described the area as being covered in trees and blooming flowers, making for a beautiful hike. They even saw the road where Lon would have been standing. Lon moved closer to the thicket to get a better look at the creature, and the dog stopped barking and yelped as if it was hurt. Lon described the creature as being about 7 feet tall with dark hair all over its body. The Sykesville Monster is just one of many mysterious creatures reported to be living in the woods and wilderness areas of Maryland. Lon Strickler has made a career out of investigating these types of encounters and sharing them with the public.
