A new investigation has shed light on one of the Northwest's most enduring mysteries - the existence of Bigfoot. A criminologist from Texas has taken a fresh look at the physical evidence, specifically focusing on the footprints attributed to the elusive creature. The detailed Sasquatch footprints, discovered in the mid-80s in the Blue Mountains near Walla Walla by Paul Freeman, have been the subject of much debate. While some believe they are genuine evidence of Bigfoot's existence, others claim they are fraudulent. Jimmy Chillcut, a crime scene investigator and fingerprint expert, was intrigued by the footprints and decided to examine them further. With his expertise in fingerprints, palm prints, and footprints of great apes, Chillcut spent several days in Dr. Jeff Meldrum's lab at Idaho State University, reviewing the casts of the footprints. Chillcut's findings were surprising. He determined that one of the Freeman casts was an enhanced or embellished casting, with someone's fingerprints added to it. However, he also found something unusual in another casting from the Walla Walla River in Washington - a scar on the foot. This scar, with the skin flap growing back at an odd angle, was not something that could be easily faked. But the most compelling evidence came from a third casting from Northern California, cast in 1967. Chillcut found that the ridges on the bottom of the foot ran up and down, rather than across the width of the foot like human footprints. This unusual pattern was also present in the Walla Walla casting, leading Chillcut to conclude that the footprints were genuine evidence of an unknown non-human primate - a North American ape. I find this new investigation fascinating. It's exciting to see a skilled professional like Jimmy Chillcut taking a fresh look at the evidence and coming to a different conclusion. I encourage all Squatchable readers to watch the video and see the evidence for themselves.
