Bigfoot believers, get ready for a fascinating interview with an actor who plays one of the titular creatures in the new film, "Sasquatch Sunset." The movie, which was an official selection at the Sundance Film Festival and South by Southwest, features four actors in heavy makeup, transformed into Bigfoots. Kristoff Zajack, a Detroit native and Michigan State University graduate, joined the Live in The D show to discuss his role in the film. With no dialogue or conventional language, the film instead relies on body language and posturing to communicate the actions and emotions of the Sasquatch family. The tagline for the film is "A year in the life of a singular family," and it explores the wacky, real, and tragic events that can happen in the course of a year. Zajack discussed how he got involved with the project, explaining that his agent received a call looking for someone with costume and creature experience. After an interview with the directors, he was thrilled to be cast in the film. The makeup process, however, was a lengthy one, taking two hours every morning and an hour every night, with an additional half hour in the shower to remove the glue balls that formed due to the creases in the prosthetics. In addition to "Sasquatch Sunset," Zajack is also involved in other projects, including a documentary about his life and surfing called "Standing on Water" and a music video for Dawn for Ability and Progress, which aims to change the representation of people with disabilities in media. it's exciting to see a film like "Sasquatch Sunset" that takes the creature seriously and explores the lives of a Sasquatch family. Be sure to check out the film and keep an eye out for Kristoff Zajack's future projects.
