A recent video posted on YouTube by The Lore Lodge has caught the attention of the Bigfoot community. In the video, titled "Did a Mysterious Tribe Inspire the Legend of Sasquatch?", Aiden Mattis explores the possibility that a tribe of cannibalistic red-headed giants known as the CA or Numa Takata may have influenced Bigfoot legends. According to the video, the term CA is often used to describe these beings, but it is not actually a Paiute word. Instead, the term used by Luellen Loud, the museum security guard who conducted much of the research on the CA, is "sea" which means "Tuli" or "eaters." The Paiute would often refer to each other's bands by what they ate, so the CA were known as the "ground squirrel eaters." Sarah Winnemucca, a Paiute woman born in 1844, provides one of the most detailed accounts of the CA in her 1882 book "Life Among the Paiutes." She describes the CA as a tribe of barbarians who lived along the Humboldt River and were known for ambushing, killing, and eating Paiute travelers. They also used pit traps with spikes and fought without fear, displaying amazing feats of agility. The Paiute attempted to integrate the CA into their own tribe and civilize them, but the CA refused and continued their cannibalistic ways. Eventually, the Paiute waged a war of extermination against the CA, driving them back to Humboldt Lake where they were besieged and eventually driven out onto Tulie rafts and into the middle of the lake. According to Sarah Winnemucca, the CA were exterminated and her people became known as "seu Kar" or "conqueror" or "enemy." The video also mentions a possible connection between the CA and Bigfoot legends. The CA were known for kidnapping women, similar to the Uck Indian devil, and were often referred to as "keepers of the forest" by some tribes. This connection is up for debate, but it is an interesting theory to consider. I encourage our readers to check out the video and form their own opinions on the possible connection between the CA and Bigfoot legends. It's always exciting to explore new theories and ideas within the Bigfoot community.
