The YouTube channel Odd & Untold recently released a video titled "Swamp Monsters: Bigfoot in Louisiana" that explores the mysterious creatures said to inhabit the swamps of Louisiana. The video discusses the Honey Island Swamp monster, a cryptid creature similar to descriptions of Bigfoot, reported to inhabit the Honey Island Swamp in St Tam Parish, Louisiana. According to the video, the Honey Island Swamp monster is described as a large bipedal humanoid about 7 ft tall, covered with gray hair, having yellow or red eyes, and accompanied by a putrid odor. The creature's footprints are said to have four toes, not a natural trait found in primates who possess five. The first claim sighting of the Honey Island Swamp monster was in 1963 by Harlan Ford, a retired air traffic controller who had taken up wildlife photography. A reel of Super Eight film showing the creature was found among his belongings after his death in 1980. The video also mentions the BFRO report database and shares some stories from the database, each one from a different parish in Louisiana, where the sightings occurred. In one story, hunters witnessed a large dark manlike creature pull a stump from the ground in the Honey Island Swamp in 1980 or 1981. The witnesses were hunting near a river that runs through the swamp when they heard a splash and turned to see the creature standing with its back to them at the river. Another story tells of a man who was walking his dog in the woods near his home in 2008 when he heard a loud growl behind him. He turned around to see a large, hairy creature standing less than 10 feet away. The creature then ran off into the woods. The video serves as a reminder of the mysterious creatures that are said to inhabit the swamps and woods of Louisiana and the continued search for evidence of their existence.
