A recent video from the YouTube channel Den of Geek features an interview with Dr. Jeff Meldrum, a full professor of anatomy and anthropology at Idaho State University. Dr. Meldrum is a renowned researcher in the field of Sasquatch studies and the author of "Sasquatch: Legend Meets Science." In the video, he discusses his research into the Contemporary scientific evidence for the reality of Sasquatch, as well as his deference to tribal people's traditional knowledge of this subject.
Dr. Meldrum's lab has more than 300 footprint casts attributed to Relic hominoids around the world, and he has published two field guides focusing on Sasquatch and Relic hominoids. He is also the editor-in-chief of the scholarly referee Journal The Relic hominoid inquiry.
During the interview, Dr. Meldrum talks about the importance of understanding the tribal perspective on Sasquatch, as well as the challenges of obtaining accurate information from these communities. He mentions a paper by Gail highpine, which provides a synthesis of Native American traditions and knowledge of Sasquatch across North America.
Dr. Meldrum also discusses his work on a manuscript with a cultural Anthropologist at the University of New Mexico at Gallup, which explores the ethnographic side of Sasquatch in the Southwest. He highlights the potential ecological basis for the existence of Sasquatch, and the correlation between its potential habitat and that of black bears in the region.
