In a recent video from The Late Late Horror Show's YouTube channel, paranormal enthusiasts were treated to an interview with David Wilbanks, author of "The Kiamichi Bigfoot." Wilbanks, who has been interested in the Bigfoot mystery since childhood, discussed his experiences and investigations in Oklahoma.
The interview began with Wilbanks sharing his early interest in Bigfoot, sparked by a book on the Abominable Snowman written by Roger Patterson. As a child, Wilbanks would read and look at the pictures in the book, fascinated by the mystery. This interest in the outdoors and a good mystery led Wilbanks to start investigating Bigfoot sightings in the mid-1990s.
During the interview, Wilbanks discussed the history of Bigfoot sightings in Oklahoma, which date back to the late 1800s. He mentioned a specific series of events in the early 1970s in El Reno, where a chicken farmer reported strange occurrences, including a large handprint on the inside of a chicken coop. However, Wilbanks clarified that the term "Abominable Chicken Man" was specific to this isolated case and not a general term used for Bigfoot sightings in Oklahoma.
Wilbanks also discussed his time as a brief contact for the BFRO (Bigfoot Field Research Organization) in the late 1990s. During this time, he assisted on investigations in leflore County, including the infamous "Area X" and the "Casino Footage" sighting. The Casino Footage sighting, which was investigated by Wilbanks and another BFRO investigator, is detailed in the book.
Throughout the interview, Wilbanks shared his passion for the Bigfoot mystery and his dedication to investigating sightings and documenting his findings. it was exciting to hear firsthand from someone who has dedicated so much time and energy to the pursuit of the elusive creature.
