Bigfoot sightings in Massachusetts? Who would have thought! The YouTube channel GIS Answers has compiled a map of Bigfoot sightings in the state using data from the BFRO and Esri Hub. The video takes us on a tour of the Bay State, highlighting clusters and individual sightings in blue and red, respectively. One of the first sightings on the map is from Leo Minster in June 2010. Minster and some hikers observed and cast possible fresh footprints in Leo Minster State Forest. Another sighting occurred in December 1977 near Ashburnham, where snowmobilers had a daylight sighting. The video also points out a possible nighttime sighting in 2006 while driving over a bridge near Charlemont. As we move towards the coast, there are quite a few sightings near the Atlantic. In January 2009, a federal law enforcement agent described possible snow tracks on private land near the Mansat River in New Bedford. A night sighting by a motorist near Freetown in July 2009 is also highlighted. The sighting occurred near a wetland or forest area, and the motorist saw the creature while driving on Highway 140. The video also points out two sightings near Watson Pond in March 2009 and December 1977-78. Water is necessary for all life forms, and it seems that Bigfoot agrees! Towards the end of the video, we see a sighting near the Rhode Island state border in May 2008. A sundown sighting by motorists near the state border has us wondering if Bigfoot uses hydro corridors to move around and access water. The video is an exciting glimpse into the world of Bigfoot in Massachusetts. It's always fascinating to see where sightings occur and to hear the stories of those who have encountered the elusive creature.
