Have you ever wondered about the existence of mysterious creatures that have been reported throughout history? A video from the YouTube channel The Sasquatch Archives TV, titled "MONSTERS! Mysteries of Myths?" (1974), explores this fascinating topic. The video discusses various monsters, including the Loch Ness Monster, the Abominable Snowman, and Bigfoot. One interesting point made is that some people believe in monsters because they make the world more colorful and exciting. As children, we often create imaginary beings, but as we mature, we're taught to be less credulous and to believe only in what can be proven to exist. However, some individuals can't give up their imaginary creatures and instead create monsters that provide an outlet for their internal fears. The video also mentions that some monsters have a basis in fact. For centuries, Western men had heard rumors about a legendary man-monster that roamed the jungles of darkest Africa. It wasn't until the late 19th century that science caught up with the legend, calling it the Gorilla. In addition, new biological species are being found each year, and some creatures remain myths. Myths about strange creatures seem to hold a never-ending fascination for the public. Thousands of inquiries have been directed to the Smithsonian asking about the possible existence of various creatures, including the Loch Ness Monster, Bigfoot, and the Abominable Snowman. Interestingly, in the last decade, over 300 reported sightings of Bigfoot have been recorded in America. In 1973 alone, there were 33 reported sightings. The video also mentions that a relative of Bigfoot has been reported seen in the Russian Caucasus, where it's called the Almasty, and another relative is said to live in the Himalayas, known as the Abominable Snowman or the Yeti. One notable story comes from Yogi Narahari Nath, a Sanskrit scholar from Kathmandu, Nepal, who tells of his encounter with the Abominable Snowman while trekking in the western Himalayas. He saw an ugly-looking black creature walking like a man about 100 yards ahead of him. The video also discusses the search for the Yeti, with anthropologists and naturalists joining in the quest for proof that the Snowman existed. Among the things they found were a cave said to be the lair of the Yeti, what was said to be the height of a Yeti, and its alleged mummified hand and what was said to be the hide of a Yeti scalp. However, not everyone is convinced. Sir Edmund Hillary, the first man to reach the top of Everest, led an expedition in 1960 to search for the Snowman. After analyzing the mysterious footprints in the snow, he contends they were made by known animals, and the alleged artifacts of the Yeti turned out to be that of an antelope and a bear. Hillary believes that many of the sightings, perhaps of the Abominable Snowman, came from people seeing the rare Tibetan Blue Bear. Nonetheless, reports of the Abominable Snowman's possible existence continue to come in, and a search for a similar creature has begun elsewhere in America, where the giant is said to have migrated on what was once the Bering Straits land bridge. To sum up, this video from The Sasquatch Archives TV offers a captivating look at the world of mysterious creatures and the ongoing search for their existence. Whether you're a Bigfoot believer or simply intrigued by the unknown, it's a fascinating watch. Be sure to check out the video and let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
