In this episode of the Sasquatch Outpost Podcast, host Jim Myers shares an intriguing account of a possible Bigfoot encounter from 1978. The story comes from a listener named Dee, who was camping with her family and friends at Wellington Lake near Bailey, Colorado. The group experienced various forms of activity and damage in their campsites during the night, including a trailer that had been shaken so violently that the hitch was bent and twisted.
Dee's letter details how her friend John and she saw a large, dark figure with broad shoulders and a big head near their rock formation. Believing it to be a prank, they yelled at their friends to stop, but the figure eventually left. It wasn't until much later that Dee began to consider the possibility that they had encountered a Bigfoot.
Jim agrees with Dee's interpretation, emphasizing the incredible strength required to cause such damage. He also notes that this story is another example of Sasquatch interacting with humans, albeit not in a positive or peaceful manner.
Later in the episode, Jim interviews his guest, Ron Moorhead, who has had 52 years of encounters with Bigfoot. Ron shares his experiences in the Sierra Nevada mountains and discusses the language capabilities of these elusive creatures. According to Scott Nelson, a two-time graduate of the Defense Language Institute in California, Sasquatch has a language that meets the human definition of language.
Ron also mentions a recording he made in 1974, where he mimicked the sounds he heard from a Sasquatch and received a response, suggesting a level of intelligence and communication skills among these beings.
Throughout the episode, Jim and Ron emphasize the importance of respecting and believing in the existence of Sasquatch. They encourage listeners to keep an open mind and consider the possibility that these creatures may be more human-like than previously thought.
