In a recent episode of the Bigfoot and Beyond Podcast, hosts Cliff Barrickman and James Bobo had the pleasure of interviewing Daniel Perez, the publisher of the only physical newsletter dedicated to Bigfoot, The Bigfoot Times. Perez has been a prominent figure in the Bigfoot community since the late 80s and has been publishing The Bigfoot Times monthly since 1998.
During the interview, Perez mentioned his first publication, The Bigfoot Notes, a reference book that was published in 1987. He also discussed his black booklet, "Bigfoot at Bluff Creek," which is considered the gold standard on the Patterson-Gimlin film. The Patterson-Gimlin film, taken in 1967, is one of the most famous pieces of footage showing what appears to be a Bigfoot.
Perez also shared his experience of going up to Bluff Creek, the location where the Patterson-Gimlin film was taken, with a group of Bigfoot researchers including Matt Moneymaker, Dr. Jeff Meldrum, the late Dimitri Bayanov, Doug Hoycheck, Autumn Williams, John Green and Bob Gimlin himself in 2003. They were able to locate the tail end of the film site, which was a significant moment for Bigfoot research.
In addition to his work in the Bigfoot community, Perez also mentioned his love for football. He joked about his lack of knowledge in sports, but it was a reminder that even those deeply involved in the search for Bigfoot have other interests and hobbies.
