1994 Farmhouse Encounter: Teen's Bigfoot Sighting and Missing Pets Mystery

It's not every day that we come across a video that features a different cryptid than our beloved Bigfoot, but the YouTube channel Bigfoot Encounters has done just that with their video "Encounters with Dogman Volume 2." The video shares the stories of two witnesses who have had close encounters with the elusive and often terrifying Dogman. The first witness, who remains unnamed, describes his encounter taking place in the early 90s when he was just a teenager. He had a habit of sneaking out of his family's rented farmhouse to smoke cigarettes behind the garage, even on snowy January nights. One night, he noticed a dark shape poking out of a broken board on the barn wall. At first, he thought it was some unknown piece of farm equipment, but as he continued to watch, he realized that the equipment was moving. The witness described the creature as having a strange look, almost like it had eyes and large pointy ears. Despite his initial thoughts that his imagination was running wild, he couldn't shake the feeling that he was being watched. The creature, he estimated, stood six feet tall on its hind legs and had a dog-like appearance with a pointy nose and really big pointy ears. The second encounter comes from a deer hunter named Sam, who was hunting with two companions in November of 2007. As dusk approached, Sam noticed that the birds had become quiet, and he couldn't see anything moving. Suddenly, an entirely different animal entered the clearing, walking on two feet. Sam described the creature as large, dark-furred, and hunchbacked, with upright pointed ears and a muzzle similar to that of a husky dog. Sam's encounter is particularly interesting because he was able to observe the creature's tracks in the snow. The tracks resembled those of a dog but were broader, with four toes visible and about two-inch claws leading them. The front paws measured five inches long by two to three inches wide, and the rear paws measured seven inches long by three and one-half inches wide. While the creature Sam and his companions observed was certainly not a bear, there have been cases where people have mistaken bears for Bigfoot or other cryptids. However, bear tracks typically show five toes, and a bear's loping gate and big hindquarters make them fairly easy to recognize, especially at close range by an experienced outdoorsman. It's good to note that while these encounters did not involve Bigfoot, they still highlight the mystery and wonder of the wilderness. Encounters with cryptids, whether they be Bigfoot, Dogman, or something else entirely, remind us that there is still so much we don't know about the world around us.
