In a recent video from the YouTube channel "Understanding Bigfoot," host Mike Scott interviews Troy Hager, a resident of the Omaha, Nebraska area who has had a close encounter with Bigfoot. Troy shares his story of when he was just seven years old and had a memorable experience in the woods of Western Iowa.
Troy's grandfather, who filled the role of his father as his truck driver dad was often away, taught him about the woods and camping. On this particular camping trip, Troy was in a lean-to in a gully when he was awakened in the middle of the night. He had a sense that something was watching him, and his curiosity got the better of him. He scanned the area and noticed a silhouette on the other side of the gully.
As Troy watched, the silhouette moved, and he could see a shoulder. He knew that bears and cats were not present in the area, and he couldn't make out any other human-like features. After watching for what felt like forever, the silhouette moved away, and Troy went back to sleep.
The next day, Troy told his family about his experience, but they laughed at him. However, Troy is confident in what he saw, and his curiosity about Bigfoot has only grown since then.
In the video, Mike Scott and Becky Pepper also discuss their travels and recent birthdays. They thank Michael Harrell and Tom Cantrell for their kind words about the show.
On a side note, did you know that the Republican River, which flows near Concordia, Kansas, is one of the few rivers in the United States that flows northward? It begins in Colorado and flows into Nebraska before turning back into Kansas. This is just one of the many interesting facts about the geography of the Midwest.
