In the world of Bigfoot research, stories of discoveries and encounters are plentiful. One such tale comes from the YouTube channel TCC Research, where a video discussing the discovery of a dead Bigfoot by two girls in 1967 is presented. While the event occurred decades ago, the story has recently gained more attention, thanks to the efforts of researcher John Green.
The original account appeared in the Salem Oregon Capital Journal in June 1971, recounting the experience of two local girls who stumbled upon a mysterious carcass in the woods near Happy Camp, California. At the time, skepticism overshadowed the story, with many dismissing it as a hoax. The primary reasons for disbelief included the girls' alleged eight-mile trek into the wilderness and the difficulty in relocating the spot where they claimed to have found the body.
John Green, a renowned Bigfoot researcher, decided to revisit the story in 1976. His investigation led him to locate one of the girls, who was living near Tacoma, Washington, and had since married and started a family. After speaking with her, Green contacted the other girl, who was living in Norco, California.
During their conversations, the girls revealed that they hadn't actually wandered eight miles into the woods but had followed an old forest road. This revelation made it more feasible for them to return to the location where they discovered the remains.
However, the two girls' stories had inconsistencies. One girl was adamant that she had seen a dead Bigfoot, while the other could only recall a large area covered in hair, resembling a horse's mane. After further consideration, the second girl admitted to seeing bones, which led her to believe that a large creature had been present.
John Green found these inconsistencies explainable and began to view the story as plausible. The two girls had grown up together in Salem, Oregon, and one of their families had moved to Kemper Gulch, which was about ten miles north of Happy Camp, California. The Salem girl visited her friends in Kemper Gulch several times, and one of these visits resulted in the discovery of the mysterious remains.
The girls' descriptions of the scene included several inches of old snow, but they disagreed on the exact location of the body along the forest road. The Salem girl remembered being followed by a mysterious creature, while the other girl's dog was merely chasing a bear.
What stood out to Green was the Salem girl's recollection of a hand with a thumbnail. She described the nail as larger than a human nail, thick, and squared off. The color reminded her of a nicotine-stained finger, which led Green to believe that the remains could only have belonged to a Bigfoot.
While the story of the two girls and their discovery remains unverified, it provides an intriguing glimpse into the world of Bigfoot research. The existence of a larger-than-human hand with a thumbnail and thumbnail is a fascinating detail that sets this tale apart from others.
As Bigfoot enthusiasts, we are always eager to learn more about the elusive creature and its potential existence. Encounters like these, whether proven or not, contribute to the ongoing fascination and mystery surrounding Bigfoot.
