If you're a Bigfoot enthusiast, you might be surprised to learn that reports of a man-like creature exist just outside of Hollywood, in the mountains of Southern California. The YouTube channel Small Town Monsters explores this intriguing possibility in their video "Legend of the SoCal Sasquatch | Mysteries &Monsters Squad." The video's host, Eli Watson, admits that he was skeptical about the existence of Bigfoot in Southern California, given the region's high population density and urban development. However, his research led him to discover an entire chapter dedicated to Bigfoot reports in the region in John Green's book "Sasquatched: The Apes Among Us," published in 1978. Green, one of the "four horsemen of sasquatchery," collected and vetted reports of Sasquatch sightings, and his book is considered a pinnacle in Sasquatch history. The video also highlights the diverse terrain and wildlife of Southern California, including rattlesnakes, coyotes, mule deer, mountain lions, Bobcats, black bears, and even the extinct grizzly bears. The region's forests, such as the Angeles National Forest, San Bernardino National Forest, San Jacinto Wilderness, Palomar Mountain State Park, and Cleveland National Forest, offer a variety of habitats for these animals. One interesting fact mentioned in the video is that the California state flag features a grizzly bear, which was once native to the state. It's estimated that there were at least 10,000 grizzly bears in California, and they were so prominent that they had their own classification of grizzly bear, known as the California Grizzly. Overall, the video "Legend of the SoCal Sasquatch | Mysteries &Monsters Squad" offers an intriguing look at the possibility of Bigfoot sightings in Southern California and highlights the region's diverse terrain and wildlife. As Bigfoot believers, it's always exciting to learn about new reports and possible sightings, and this video certainly delivers on that front.
