If you're a fan of found footage films and Bigfoot, then you're in luck. A new low-budget film called "Sawtooth" has been making waves on YouTube, and it's definitely worth a watch. The movie follows a group of high school friends who decide to go Bigfoot hunting in the Sawtooth Ridge, after getting suspended from school.
The film starts off with the introduction of the main characters, Lynn, Carlos, and Jamie. These three are your typical nerdy high school students who love comic books, math, and of course, Sasquatch. When they stumble upon a bully, Lynn, the tough and rough girl of the group, doesn't hesitate to throw a punch. As a result, the trio gets suspended, and they decide to take this time off to go Bigfoot hunting.
As they venture deeper into the woods, their car breaks down, and they're forced to hike further away from civilization. Carlos, who has a personal connection to Bigfoot, is determined to find conclusive evidence of its existence. His father had a Sasquatch encounter before he died, and it left a lasting impression on Carlos.
One of the things that make "Sawtooth" stand out from other found footage films is the character development. Each character has their own unique personality, and their interactions with each other feel authentic. From their conversations about comic books and superpowers to their banter about what they're going to do when they get out of school, the characters are well-developed and likable.
As they continue their journey, they stumble upon a pot farm, and things take a dangerous turn. The farmers aren't too happy about the intrusion, and they have Jamie at gunpoint. However, Lynn comes to the rescue and manages to disarm them. The trio manages to escape, but they're now lost in the woods with no food or cell phone service.
One interesting bit of information mentioned in the film is the dermal ridges found in Bigfoot footprints. These ridges are unique to each individual, much like human fingerprints. This adds a level of authenticity to the film and makes the search for Bigfoot feel more realistic.
As the group continues their journey, they finally find what they've been looking for - a Bigfoot footprint. Carlos is ecstatic and can't believe their luck. However, their excitement is short-lived as they hear a growl in the woods. Lynn, who had gone to bed early, comes back to the group, visibly shaken. She didn't make that sound, something else was out there in the woods.
As the film progresses, the group faces more challenges, including running out of food, getting lost, and encountering more danger. However, they never give up hope and continue their search for Bigfoot.
Overall, "Sawtooth" is a great addition to the found footage genre. The characters are likable, the story is engaging, and the search for Bigfoot feels authentic. If you're a fan of Bigfoot or just enjoy a good found footage film, then "Sawtooth" is definitely worth checking out. You can find it on YouTube, and don't forget to share your thoughts on the film in the comments section.
