Have you ever heard of Markham Springs Recreational Area in Missouri? Nestled near the Black River, this serene location is a popular spot for camping and fishing. But for one family, their peaceful retreat turned into an unforgettable encounter with the unknown.
In a video posted on the YouTube channel Sasquatch Theory, a man named Rick shares his experience from the late 70s when he and his family visited Markham Springs. They heard strange noises on the other side of the river, as if something was making a ruckus and growling towards them. Despite their initial dismissal, the sounds grew louder and more frequent, leading them to believe that they were not alone.
As they fished near a sandbar, a rock the size of a softball whizzed by them, hitting the water in between. Unsure of what they had just witnessed, they decided to leave the area and head to a nearby Mill Pond. However, their unease did not subside as they heard more strange noises and witnessed a tree falling in the distance.
The following day, as they walked back to their campsite, they noticed a strange object on the side of the road. It was a stool, measuring 15-18 inches long and about three inches round. Rick mentioned that it looked like it belonged to a human, adding to the eerie atmosphere of their trip.
While the family did not see a Sasquatch during their stay, the strange occurrences and noises they heard have led them to believe that they may have had an encounter with one.
But what about the strange object they found on the side of the road? According to a study published in the Journal of Archaeological Science, ancient humans used similar objects as seats or stools. Could it be possible that the stool they found was left behind by a Sasquatch? While it's impossible to say for sure, it's an interesting bit of information to consider.
