To their surprise, the creature did not respond. Instead, they heard heavy breathing and what sounded like a hand rubbing against the outside of the wall, as if trying to find a way in. The breathing was low to the ground, and the hand was at head level, about 12 feet from the ground if you were standing outside. The friends were left shaken and confused, unable to identify the creature that had stalked them through the night. They waited until daylight to gather their things and return home, but the memory of that night stayed with them.
