Dogman Encounter: Cryptozoologist Recounts 2013 Confrontation with 7.5-Foot Creature

To his surprise, he found a 7.5-foot tall, 650-pound Dogman eating a piece of deer. Valente was able to observe the creature for a minute and 10 seconds before it walked away. Valente has also had fleeting sightings of Dogmen in other locations, including one with author D.A. Roberts in LBL, Kentucky. Despite these experiences, he emphasizes that cryptozoology is not just about Bigfoot or Sasquatch, but also encompasses a wide variety of other mysterious creatures. In addition to his work with Dogmen, Valente is also interested in the science behind cryptozoology. For example, he notes that many cryptids are described as having glowing eyes, which could be due to a layer of tissue behind the eye called the tapetum lucidum. This tissue reflects light and can give the appearance of glowing eyes in the dark. Valente's experiences and research serve as a reminder that the world is full of mysteries and unexplained phenomena.
