Uncover 1890s Bigfoot Sightings: Share Your Own Encounter

In the latest episode of TCC Research's Encounter series, we delve into some fascinating historical accounts of mysterious creatures from the 1890s. While these stories don't necessarily involve Bigfoot, they certainly share some intriguing similarities with Sasquatch sightings. Let's start with the report from Michigan, October 1891. George W. Frost and W.W. Vivian claimed to have encountered a wild man in Ludington County. This hairy figure was described as being at least seven feet tall, with arms reaching below the knees, and hands twice the usual size. The witnesses also mentioned that the creature's jumps measured between 20 to 23 feet. Moving on to Kentucky, May 1894, residents of Deep Creek reported a man-beast stealing their chickens, young pigs, and other food items. Joseph Ewald, one of the witnesses, described the creature as having great long white hair hanging down from its head and face, resembling a horse's mane. The legs were covered with hair, and the only piece of clothing it wore was a sheepskin covering the lower portion of its body, reaching nearly to its knees. In Indiana, 1897, a man claimed to have seen a hair-covered creature. Later that month, two farmers in Ohio reported seeing a man-sized creature walking on its hind legs. When approached, the creature ran away on all fours, disappearing into the woods. In another part of Ohio, near Stout, a wild man was seen in the woods. The witnesses described the figure as being very tall, almost naked, and capable of running like a deer. One witness insisted that the creature was wearing a pair of tattered pants. Lastly, in California, near Twin Lake, a native encountered a Sasquatch during the summer of 1897. The creature was covered in thick, coarse hair, with brown eyes. It made a noise and moved away into the trees after the native laid down a string of fish as a gesture of goodwill. These historical accounts of mysterious creatures share some fascinating similarities with modern-day Bigfoot sightings.
