If you're a Bigfoot enthusiast, you've undoubtedly seen the famous Patterson film, a minute-long video taken in 1967 by Roger Patterson and his sidekick, Bob Gimlin. The film features a creature walking through the woods, and it's become one of the most well-known pieces of evidence in the search for Bigfoot. Recently, I came across an interview with Jeff Healey, a Bigfoot researcher and historian who specializes in the Patterson film. In the interview, Healey discusses his website, pattersonfilm.com, which is dedicated exclusively to the subject of the Patterson film. Healey has spent years researching the film, reading everything he can get his hands on, and is now ready to release his book, "The Great Harris Film Mystery: What Really Happened on October 20th, 1967." During the interview, Healey explains that his book is not a heavy, technical analysis of the film, but rather a look at the stories and circumstances surrounding it. Healey offers his own opinions, but ultimately leaves it up to the reader to decide what they believe happened that day. One interesting bit from the interview is Healey's discussion of Bob Hieronymus, a man from Yakima, Washington who claimed to be the man in the suit in the Patterson film. However, Hieronymus' story has been inconsistent, and Healey is not convinced that he is telling the truth. If you're interested in learning more about the Patterson film, Healey's website and book are great resources. And, of course, you can always watch the film itself to form your own opinions. Who knows, maybe one day we'll have definitive proof of the existence of Bigfoot, but until then, we can continue to enjoy and analyze the evidence we do have.
