Bigfoot sightings have been reported around the world for centuries, and Wales is no exception. In a recent episode of "Travels by Broomstick," a YouTube series that explores paranormal and cryptid sightings in the UK, the hosts investigate a reported Bigfoot sighting on Caerphilly Mountain. According to the episode, Jason Parsons, a Bigfoot enthusiast from Cardiff, captured footage of a gorilla-like creature gripping and pulling on a tree while on a hike at Caerphilly Mountain. Jason had been filming strange cross-shaped structures and oddly broken trees, which he believed were related to Bigfoot behavior. He passed the video footage to Adam Bird, co-founder of the British Bigfoot Research Organization, as evidence. Adam stated that the footage appears to show something significant, as there have been many reports of mysterious eight-foot tall creatures around the world, known as Bigfoot or Sasquatch. These creatures are described as part human, part ape, and are known to inhabit remote mountainous regions. Caerphilly Mountain, located between the town of Caerphilly and Wales' capital city of Cardiff, has a summit of 271 meters above sea level. The exact spot where Jason Parsons saw the Bigfoot shaking a tree is a Woodland area, away from the main road and the sound of traffic, with beautiful views and the sounds of birds singing. Jason Parsons was unaware of the Bigfoot's presence until he reviewed the footage at home. He described the creature as a gorilla-like figure slightly blended into the dark brush and surrounding trees. The Bigfoot is seen shaking a tree, but Jason was only filming a stick that had been broken in an odd way at the time. Adam Bird, co-founder of the British Bigfoot Research Organization, stated that skeptics will say it's just a person, but why would a person stand in the middle of a remote Forest swinging and pushing a tree? This is a valid point, as it is unlikely that a person would behave in such a way in a remote Forest. The episode also mentions the Patterson-Gimlin film, which is alleged to depict a female Bigfoot. The film, shot in 1967, is filled with controversy, as even the Bigfoot community is divided on its authenticity. Some believe that the film captures an unknown primate, while others claim it is a hoax. The Caerphilly Mountain Bigfoot sighting is just one of many reported sightings around the world. While many sightings are dismissed as hoaxes, the existence of giant ape-like creatures roaming around Forests does appear in many folklore Tales.
