In the world of the paranormal, there are countless stories of unexplained phenomena, and the video from the YouTube channel "From The Shadows" is no exception. The channel's hosts, Shane Grove and Phil Garrett, share their guests' experiences with a focus on the paranormal, and in this particular video, they feature a guest named Steve who shares his encounter with something mysterious in Salt Fork State Park.
Steve, a long-haul truck driver, grew up in Marion, Ohio, and has had several paranormal experiences throughout his life. In this video, he shares his story of when he was 12 years old and went deer hunting with his father in Salt Fork State Park during muzzleloading season. They decided to sleep in the back of their pickup truck at a primitive campground, which some people refer to as Bigfoot Ridge or Sasquatch Ridge.
At around two or three o'clock in the morning, Steve was awakened by the sound of footsteps outside the truck, followed by the sound of something rubbing its hand down the side of the fiberglass cap. He then heard a couple of grunts from something further back, followed by footfalls walking away from the vehicle. Steve was understandably frightened but pulled the covers over his head and fell back asleep.
The next morning, Steve and his father went deer hunting in the same area where they had heard the mysterious sounds the night before. They set up in a spot where three hollers came together, and at around 8:30 or 9:00 am, a nice deer came running in. Steve shot it, and it ran up the other side of the ravine and into the woodline, where he heard it fall.
Salt Fork State Park is no stranger to paranormal activity. It is said to be one of the most haunted state parks in Ohio, with numerous reports of Bigfoot sightings, UFOs, and other unexplained phenomena. The park's 17,229 acres of forests, fields, and wetlands make it an ideal location for those seeking paranormal experiences.
In addition to Steve's story, Salt Fork State Park has a rich history of Native American culture. The park is home to several ancient earthworks, including the Newark Earthworks, which are considered some of the most impressive geometric earthworks in the world. These earthworks were built by the Hopewell culture, which thrived in Ohio from about 200 BC to AD 500.
The Hopewell culture was known for their advanced knowledge of astronomy, mathematics, and engineering. They built massive earthen enclosures, mounds, and other structures, many of which align with the solstices and equinoxes. The Newark Earthworks, for example, feature a great circle and octagon that align with the rising and setting of the moon.
The Hopewell culture's advanced knowledge of astronomy and mathematics has led some researchers to speculate that they may have had contact with extraterrestrial beings. While there is no concrete evidence to support this theory, it is an intriguing possibility that adds to the park's mystique.
In conclusion, Steve's encounter with something mysterious in Salt Fork State Park is just one of many unexplained phenomena reported in the park. Whether you believe in Bigfoot, UFOs, or extraterrestrial beings, Salt Fork State Park is a fascinating place to explore and experience the paranormal. Who knows what you might encounter on your next visit?
