In a recent episode of Bigfoot Pad Paranormal Radio, hosts Brent, Tim, and Nick delved into the topic of the Yeti, also known as the Abominable Snowman, a creature said to inhabit the Himalayan regions of Nepal and Tibet. The Yeti is believed to be taller than the average human and similar to a Bigfoot, with the names Yeti and Meta being commonly used by the people indigenous to the region. Before diving into the Yeti, the group discussed some current news articles. One article was about artificial lab-grown steaks that could be around the corner thanks to a generous grant from PayPal's co-founding billionaire investor, Peter Thiel. The startup is working on a 3D bioprinting technique to create juicy steaks to help modern agriculture achieve its goal of reducing its environmental impact. Brent raised the question of whether the lab-grown meat would provide the same beneficial nutrients as real meat, to which Tim pointed out that the meat bought from the grocery store is already filled with hormones and genetically modified, making synthetic meat not a far jump from where we are already. Another article discussed the discovery of the skeletons of 16 human hands buried in four pits in what is believed to be a throne room in Denmark, dating back to 2000 years ago. The hands appear to be the first physical evidence of a practice attested to in ancient Egyptian writing and art, where soldiers would present the cut-off right hand of an enemy in exchange for gold. The symbolic purpose of taking away the enemy's strength and power eternally is an interesting aspect of this discovery. Nick also shared some team news, mentioning their plans to work on a Southern Nevada desert Yeti documentary, head out to Barker Ranch (the Manson Ranch) to do some ghost investigating, and film a documentary of their own in California in two weeks. The group then moved on to the topic of the Yeti, with Nick expressing his belief in the creature based on evidence such as a video he saw in high school of a Yeti walking on the snow in the Himalayas. Brent also expressed his belief in the possibility of a Bigfoot from the Himalayas, and shared their plans of going to Bhutan to look for the Yeti. In the pre-19th century, the Yeti was part of pre-Buddhist beliefs of several Himalayan people, with followers of the Bon religion once believing the blood of the Yeti was used in certain mythical ceremonies. The Yeti was depicted as an ape-like creature who carries a large stone as a weapon and makes a whistling swoosh sound. It's fascinating to learn about the Yeti and its place in the history and mythology of the Himalayan region. While the scientific community generally regards the Yeti as a legend, it remains one of the most famous creatures in cryptozoology and a subject of much intrigue and speculation. Be sure to check out the video for more information and insights on the Yeti.
