In this episode of Bigfoot's Pad Paranormal Radio, hosts Nick and Jeremy discuss two strange Japanese cryptids: the Kappa and the Hibagon. The Kappa, a humanoid creature said to inhabit the ponds and rivers of Japan, is described as having scaly reptilian skin, webbed hands and feet, and a carapace on its head that is always wet. According to legend, if the cavity on top of a Kappa's head dries out, the creature will lose its power or even die. One interesting theory about the Kappa's wet head is that it may be a type of gill, allowing the creature to function in water. This could explain why some stories claim the Kappa's arms are connected through the torso and can slide from one side to the other. While primarily water creatures, Kappa are also said to venture onto land, where their wet head is covered by a metal cap or some other type of covering. In addition to discussing the Kappa, the hosts also touch on a few news stories. One such story involves scientists at the Pentagon looking to use a special tattoo to track the vital signs of U.S soldiers. This unobtrusive and durable biostatistic device would monitor a soldier's condition in the field and track their stress levels in an effort to tackle combat fatigue and other problems. The technology, known as epidermal electronic systems, is made from lightweight and unobtrusive materials that are flexible and can be stretched without damaging the device. Another news story discussed on the show is the mysterious star-like virus that has claimed two more victims in Germany and Britain. This virus, which originated in the Middle East, has already caused 11 fatalities and infected six others. Health officials are concerned that it could spread to the United States or Canada. Lastly, the hosts briefly mention Australian billionaire Clive Palmer's plans to build a robotic Jurassic Park at his resort in Australia. Palmer has ordered more than 100 life-sized mechanical dinosaurs from China for display at the park, which is currently under construction. It's always fascinating to learn about different cryptids from around the world, and the Kappa is certainly no exception. Whether or not you believe in the existence of such creatures, there's no denying the allure of these mysterious beings and the stories that surround them. Who knows, maybe one day we'll have definitive proof of their existence. Until then, we can only speculate and enjoy the stories that have been passed down through the generations.
