In a recent episode of Spirit Speak, Exploring the Afterlife on the YouTube channel Barry Strohm, hosts Connie and Barry Strohm welcomed cryptozoologist and paranormal enthusiast Eric Altman to discuss his expertise in Bigfoot. As Bigfoot believers, we were excited to learn more about Eric's experiences and insights on the elusive creature. Eric has been involved in the study of Bigfoot for over 43 years and has traveled all over the country investigating claims and cases of Bigfoot sightings. He shared that he has had some close encounters with the creature, but has not seen one definitively. However, he has seen countless footprints that are made by a large upright bipedal walking animal, resembling a human foot but much larger. One interesting bit that Eric mentioned was that the East Coast of North America has a high number of Bigfoot reports, ranging from Maine all the way down to Florida. He explained that while the Pacific Northwest gets a lot of attention, there may actually be more creatures on the East Coast. In Pennsylvania, where Eric is from, the southwestern portion of the state seems to be an active area for Bigfoot sightings. When asked why no one has ever been able to find the remains of a Bigfoot, Eric shared a few theories. One theory is that when something dies in the wild, it is naturally devoured by the forest and its remains are taken care of quickly by predators and small animals. Another theory is that Bigfoot may have a social structure and burial rituals, burying their dead underground or in caves where we are not looking. Eric also mentioned that he believes Bigfoot to be at the same level of intelligence as higher primates, such as gorillas and chimpanzees. He does not think they have the ability to wear clothing or manipulate tools like humans do, but they are very smart and may use rocks as tools. As Bigfoot believers, we found this episode of Spirit Speak, Exploring the Afterlife to be informative and interesting. We encourage our readers to watch the full episode and hear Eric's insights and experiences for themselves. Who knows, it may even inspire you to go out and do some Bigfoot sighting of your own!
